With an area of 14.53 km2, the Brome lake attracts tourists year round. It is also at the heart of the lives of its residents. A paradise for fishermen, artists, outdoor and sports enthusiasts, it is used for swimming, fishing, sailing, kayaking, rowing or paddleboating (SUP) in summer, running and walking in the trails that border its banks and by biking along its shores. In the winter, ice fishing and the ice skating rink with its heated shelter at Douglass beach are popular with families. A cultural leader in the Eastern Townships, Town of Brome Lake hosts several festivals, gourmet events and cultural events throughout the year, including Canard & gourmandises in September.
