The Town of Brome Lake is proud to announce the signing of its first collective agreement with its firefighters. The five-year contract covers the years 2023 to 2027.

The agreement includes a review of the existing salary structure, with retroactive increases of 7% for 2023, then 3% in 2024 and 2025. A 2.5% increase is planned for 2026 and 2027.

The Town of Brome Lake salutes the great cooperation of its fire brigade in bringing this first agreement to a successful conclusion. Talks took place in a climate of respect and listening. The agreement will enable us to continue offering an excellent level of service to the populations of Brome Lake and West Bolton.

I would like to underline the professional and respectful atmosphere that constantly prevailed in the exchanges between the parties,” says Brome Lake Mayor Richard Burcombe. The citizens of Brome Lake can count on a highly dedicated team, and we are proud to improve and modernize working conditions, in recognition of the great commitment of our firefighters.

The Town of Brome Lake wishes to thank the Syndicat des employés municipaux de Lac-Brome, affiliated with the Centrale des syndicats démocratiques (CSD), for its great collaboration. We would also like to take this opportunity to express our gratitude to our firefighters for their constant efforts to reinforce the sense of security among the citizens they serve.

The new agreement was ratified by Council at the monthly meeting of August 5, 2024.
