The Town of Brome Lake Is Recruiting Election Staff

The Town of Brome Lake is recruiting election staff for the 2025 municipal general election. This unique civic experience is a concrete way to contribute to democracy.

Interested individuals must have certain availability.

  • To work during advance polling, you must be available on October 26, from 11 a.m. to 8 p.m.
  • To work on election day, you must be available on November 2, from 9 a.m. until the end of the vote count, which will begin at 8 p.m.
  • To work for the Board of Revision, you must be available from October 11 to 23. The schedule is to be determined.
  • To work during mobile voting, you must be available from October 24 to 29. The schedule will be determined based on the requests received.

Several positions are available for poll workers and polling station secretaries. There are also a few positions available for information and order maintenance officers (PRIMO) and PRIMO assistants, as well as members of the Verification Table (TVIE). A chair and members for the Review Board will also be needed.

  • The poll clerk directs the activities of the polling station. He or she addresses voters, asks them for their ID, gives them their ballot, and counts the votes.
  • The polling station secretary marks the voters who have voted on the electoral list. He or she assists the polling officer and counts the votes.
  • The PRIMO and assistant PRIMO supervise activities at the polling station. They welcome voters and direct them to their polling station. They ensure that the premises are accessible and secure for all voters.
  • Members of the Voter Identity Verification Table (TVIE) assist voters who need help confirming their identity.
  • Members of the Revision Commission process requests for voter registration, removal, or correction after the official voter registration deadline.

This amount applies to all ballots (BVO, BVA, and BVC). 

Remuneration varies according to the level of responsibility of the position. A day may require up to 14 hours of work. Paid training is also available.
