As of today, Friday, June 27, the swimming area at Douglass Beach is temporarily closed. Please note that the grassy area remains open to the public.
This preventive measure follows the latest water quality test results from the Ministry of the Environment, the Fight Against Climate Change, Wildlife and Parks. The water at the beach received a D rating, while a minimum of C is required to authorize swimming.
Further testing will be carried out shortly. The swimming area is expected to remain closed for at least three days, until results meet acceptable standards.
