Brome Lake, May 23, 2025– With summer just around the corner, the Town of Brome Lake is proud to announce several changes regarding the issuance of boat stickers and the operation of the municipal boat wash station. These changes are intended to simplify the process for users while strengthening the protection of Brome Lake and its tributaries.
A new citizen portal
Residents can now create a citizen account via the online portal. This account will allow them to centralize their information and submit requests related to obtaining boat stickers. Other services will be added to the citizen portal in the future, making them more accessible.
Residents: stickers required for all boats
Starting this year, all boats—motorized and non-motorized (paddleboards, kayaks, etc.)—must have an individual sticker. Applications must be made online on the citizen portal by June 15, 2025. After this date, tickets may be issued for non-compliance. Non-residents will have to go through the wash station and have the wash certificate issued by the station on board when boating on Brome Lake.
“These changes mark another step toward better protecting our lake while simplifying life for our citizens,” said Brome Lake Mayor Richard Burcombe. “The new citizen portal and self-serve wash station demonstrate our commitment to modernizing our services and preserving Brome Lake's natural wealth for future generations.”
Self-service wash station and new location
The Town also announced the purchase of a new wash station, now self-service, accessible at all times and relocated to 704 Lakeside Road, next to the Tourism Welcome Center. With its chemical-free decontamination equipment for interior compartments, pipes, and engines, as well as its wash progress display, the station features advanced, state-of-the-art technology.
These measures are part of an effort to preserve aquatic environments and improve services to citizens. Boaters are invited to visit this page for details.
