Under the supervision of the beach coordinators, the lifeguard is responsible for ensuring the supervision and safety of Douglass Beach users. He/she also performs various maintenance tasks to keep the site welcoming and safe for visitors.
Key Responsibilities
- Monitor swimmers and intervene in emergencies to ensure their safety.
- Apply the beach regulations and ensure that users comply with them.
- Inspect and maintain lifesaving and safety equipment.
- Perform site maintenance tasks to maintain a clean and safe environment.
- Report any incidents or problems to the Beach Coordinator.
- Participate in training and retraining organized by the employer.
- Perform any other related duties as requested by the immediate supervisor.
Job Requirements
- Hold a Bronze Cross, National Lifeguard – Pool or National Lifeguard – Continental Beach certificate in good standing.
- Be able to communicate effectively in French and English.
- Demonstrate vigilance, rigor and an excellent sense of responsibility.

Work schedule
8-week position, full-time (35-40 hours/week), Monday to Sunday on a variable schedule, from the end of June to mid-August.
Salary of:
- National Pool Lifeguard: $21.94
- National Beach Lifeguard: $22.71
