Town of Brome Lake is looking for an environmental technician dedicated to preserving our natural environment. Under the supervision of the Environmental Advisor, you will be responsible for data acquisition and processing for various characterization projects. You will work as part of a multidisciplinary team in collaboration with technical services, public works and land management.

Responsibilities
- Characterize the territory's natural environments as part of the Natural Environment Conservation Plan.
- Acquire data on motorized navigation and implement solutions to this problem.
- Monitor surface water quality by collecting water samples at various points on the territory.
- Carry out various characterizations related to invasive exotic species, cyanobacteria, stormwater and sediments.
- Accompany citizens in the renaturalization of riparian buffers and the creation of rain gardens.
- Inspect residential septic systems.
- Make citizens and visitors aware of the environmental issues facing the region, by proposing solutions that are accessible to all. Awareness campaigns will focus on boat cleaning and stormwater management, including the preservation of riparian buffer strips.
- Perform data entry and map creation in connection with the various projects.
- Work closely with municipal professionals and community stakeholders involved in water management.
Qualifications
- Possess at least a technical diploma in bioecology or be in the process of completing it, or any other related and relevant field of training.
- Possess a valid driver's license.
- Knowledge of invasive exotic species.
- Experience in characterizing natural environments.
- Advanced knowledge of plant identification.
- Knowledge of integrated water management.
- Demonstrate proficiency in water sampling techniques.
- Geomatics skills and familiarity with QGIS.
