Day Camp Counselor

Under the supervision of the camp coordinator and the head counselor, as a day camp counselor you plan, prepare and lead a variety of activities for your group of children. You will ensure their supervision and safety throughout the summer.

Main Responsibilities

• Actively participate in training sessions and meetings before and during the season.
• Create a weekly activity plan and have it approved by the immediate supervisor.
• Welcome children, supervise the group, and lead activities with enthusiasm.
• Ensure the safety and well-being of the children under your care.
• Report any incidents or noteworthy events to your supervisor.
• Communicate with parents before the start of the camp to share relevant information.
• Perform any other related tasks to ensure the camp runs smoothly.

Requirements

• Ability to communicate effectively in both French and English.
• DAFA training and first aid certification (an asset).
• Strong sense of responsibility, creativity, and ability to work as part of a team.

Employment Conditions

• 8-week full-time position (35-40 hours/week), Monday to Friday, from late June to mid-August.
• Salary: $17.82 per hour
